Club Races Starting Sequence
(Since we have a single Fleet, we've combined the Course and the Class flags)

- 6 Minutes: Lower Postponent with multiple short horns to get attention

- 5 Minutes: WARNING Signal: Course flag (A, B, C, or D) UP & short horn

- 4 Minutes: PREPARATORY Signal: “I” flag UP & short horn

- 1 Minute: “I” flag DOWN & long horn (do not enter "cone zone" - OCS)

0 Minutes: START - Course flag DOWN (with short horn)

Starting Sequence at GCYC Club Races (example shown for Course "A" 2.0 miles)

-5	Course flag (A, B, C, or D) goes up ("A" used in this example)	One short toot	Warning Signal (ie: Course A, code flag "A" = 2.0 miles)
-4	Course flag stays up, "I" goes up	One short toot	Preparatory "I" flag goes up signaling "around ends rule" in effect (Can not be "in the cone" between start pin, RC barge, and the first mark in the final minute before the start)
-1	Course flag stays up,  "I" comes down	One LONG toot	"I" flag comes down, signaling beginning of "stay clear of starting cone" in the final minute before start
0	Course flag comes down, signaling START	One short toot	START!

Important note: The COURSE flag will be flying the entire pre-start time,
so everyone can tell what the course is from anywhere around the RC.

The Course flag goes up at the Warning (-5 mins),
stays up through the Preparatory [up (-4) and down (-1)]
and only comes down AT THE START (0).

Individual Recall (X) Individual boat OCS (over early); hailing is a courtesy, not required

General Recall Entire Fleet re-starts, three toots

Mandatory Lifejackets (Y)Lifejackets worn while racing

Go to Finish from here (F) Round this mark and go directly to finish line to finish

Shortened Course (S) Finish between closest mark and this flag (new finish line)
