| Nevada County Branch has sent thousands of dollars to the
AAUW Educational Foundation.
The branch has been the recipient of several Research and Projects grants. Typically AAUW begins a project and within a few years turns it over to the community. Examples are the Volunteer Action Center and the Sierra Intergenerational Time Exchange. A series of financial forums for the community was partially funded by an EF grant. An after-school telephone reassurance program called PhoneFriends was also initially funded by an EF grant. Currently the branch is working on a named endowment in honor of recently deceased long time member and contributor, Isabel Hedrick. |
