 Nevada City Anglers offers a one day Beginning Fly Fishing class. Students meet at the shop at 9:00am. In the morning we cover the following:  Fly
Fishing equipment, rods,
and reels Rigging, knots, lines, and
leaders Fly selection, insect types,
and hatches Locating fish, reading the
water, and presentationsIn the afternoon we move the instruction out of the classroom and go out to the park where we cover casting including: Mechanics of the cast Timing and loading the rod Overhead cast False casting and the
presentation cast Roll CastingWe provide all the necessary equipment, but if you have your own, feel free to bring it to class. The cost is $85 per student.  Nevada City Anglers offers a one day Casting Clinic. This class is taught by Jan and Carol Kurahara. Jan is certified by the FFF as a Master Casting Instructor and Carol has been assisting him for the past 7 years. Students meet at the shop at 8:00am and we will shuttle to the park and after lunch we head to the river. In the morning we will be personalized casting instruction including video analysis. In the afternoon we will be on the river at our private access on the Yuba learning:

sunglasses, rod & reel, and floating line.
