Welcome to the Gold Country Yacht Club Online
GCYC's purpose is to encourage yachting
as a sport and recreation; to promote the betterment of boating
and facilities;
to promote interest in seamanship, safety, training, and navigation;
and to encourage fellowship.
We hold meetings on the second Wednesday of daylight-savings months
at our new clubhouse at Scotts Flat Lake (near the marina)
and at area restaurants during the off-season. Our 'end of the
year' Christmas party doubles
as our "awards banquet"
where the racing, cruising, and other outstanding efforts/mishaps
are honored.
We have 2 Racing Seasons (Spring
and Summer), with 4 Race Dates per Season and 3 Races per Race
Date (total 24 races)
and cruise
to the many lakes and bays nearby. During the summer, we "raft
up" at Scotts Flat Lake each Wednesday evening.
Our biggest event is the annual "Go For The Gold"
regatta
held the first weekend in June of each year (June 7-8 for 2008).
