Five boats (mostly dinghies) for
"low water level" racing - September 25, 2004
Lake level is down about 30' with no docks
in the water, making launching difficult

The first race was a "reverse pursuit" (slow boats
start first, then faster boats based on handicap) won by Gicker
on Lido14 #1159

Palmer's Lido 14 #6253 was consistently in the hunt for all three
races, tying for 2nd in the second race

Race #2's start had everyone bunched up together on starbord tack
at the pin,
as seen here, except for Gicker's Lido #1159 is off to the right
sailing on port tack...

...which turned into a big lead at the gybe/wing mark, winning
the second race by more than 2 minutes

The start of race #3 was much the same; everyone on starboard
tack down the line near the pin
Note the great start by C22 #1928 "Trouble" (far
right, in the lead)
[left to right: Lido #6253, Holder #81, Lido #1159, Banshee
#8065 and Catalina 22 #1928]

That great start turned into a first place finish for the third
race!

Bennett on Banshee #8065 gained big on the reaching legs (particularly
on B course, 2nd race)

Holder 20 #81 was looking good and having fun
