Secretary's notes (substitute Secretary Judy Lagan)
Meeting called to order (request to have bell returned).
Commodore's report:
Farewell to Kent & Kris Stellby.
Wayne gave a report on the Board of Director's meeting held on 4/6/99:
Approval given by BOD to have Hobie 12 dismantled and destroyed. Boat is not salvagable other than being stripped for parts (large hole in the side).BOD had received a request from Lynn Buchanan for funds for the Junior Sailing Program to buy 2 new sails and some rigging for our two Sunfish boats.
Also had received a request to sell the Snipe whichis a little too complicated for our Junior sailors.
The BOD approvedpurchase of at least one sail and rigging with a dollar limit attached until after the Regatta.
We also have a 2 Lidos for the Junior Sailing Program and are in the process of outfitting a trailer which will hold all 4 boats at one time.
The BOD approved the sale of the Snipe to help offset some of these major expenses. If you're interested in it, please contact Wayne or Lynn.
We have received an offer from the Kents to house our "Ship's Store" in their shop located in the Pine Creek Shopping Center.
The BOD tentatively approved an agreement with the Trophy Shoppe.
Vice Commodore's report:
Working on the Policies and Procedures manual. Any input please contact Hugh.
Secretary's report:
Have received lots of newsletters (Tahoe, San Jose, Whiskeytown) as well as entry forms for upcoming Regattas. See Tish.
Jerry Wasley, our contact at the Nevada Irrigation District, retires as of April 9th. He has been a big supporter of our Club and will be missed. His replacement is Arla Baragar, his assistant.
Treasurer's report: (Nicki absent so given by Tish).
Reported on the balance and noted that our mooring fees for the barge have been paid through June.
Race Chairman report: (Don Hare absent)
The first race scheduled for April 10th was cancelled due to weather (SNOW). We will use the #13 race on Sept 26th to make this day up. The upcoming race (April 18th) was up in the air - consider it on, but must have at least 2 boats.
Cruising Chairman:
JoLynn advised all that Don would be host for SailExpo cruise on Sunday, April 18th. They are anticipating 4 or 5 couples at this point. June's cruise is open for anyone who would like to host. With Kent & Kris gone, unless you want to travel to Hawaii, we need a new destination. Don & Trish Hare have offered to host the Whiskeytown cruise at the end of May. Don Samuelson reported on planned Northwest Cruises for August. More info on this later.
Port Captain:
All repairs have been made to the barge and a new swim ladder donated by Stellby's has been installed. The motor bracket has been lowered as well. The barge is comfortably riding on its mooringball at the lake.
