Retired and Senior Volunteer Program

Overview

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Nevada County recruits, screens and places volunteers 55 years and older in volunteer assignments that match the skills and interest of the volunteer and serve to meet community needs. RSVP is sponsored in Nevada County by the Area 4 Agency on Aging and receives limited federal funding through the Corporation for National Service.

Volunteers are placed in community and non-profit agencies where they can put their skills and life experience to work, enhancing the quality of their lives while helping to solve critical community issues. RSVP helps seniors stay active and involved, living longer, healthier and more fulfilling lives. The community benefits from the lifetime of experience the volunteers bring to their service, using their know-how to strengthen existing programs and their initiative to find new resources and answers to pressing social problems.

Local RSVP programs are required to design high-quality volunteer assignments that enrich and stimulate the individual and that focus on outcome-based, measurable impacts for the community.
