Welcome to MY Home Page! I still don't REALly know how this came about but I do know that Scott Fritz helped me a lot! I met him at church - GREAT guy! Never met his family but I hear about 'em from time to time - :>)
Okay. What's "in here" are all of my "Jana's Jewels", I think. I'll check and add old ones that I have.
"What IS a 'Jana's Jewel'?" you ask? Well, I'll tell you!
When I first entered "The Computer/E-m@il Age", I remember how LOW I felt when I would log-on and have this MOST anNOYing snake (with its tongue out, no less) saying "You have no mail" to which my mind's critic added, "Face it. You're a LOSER..." :>(
I know that made me feel pretty slimy, when a COMPUTER IMAGE thing is telling me I'm pond scum!! I decided, "I don't want anyone I know to get that 'Phthbthpbth', saggy, CRUSHED feeling, so I'm gonna send out SOMEthing so people can at LEAST have it in their 'in' box!". I had only 2 e-dresses (my cousin gave me that word) so they were the start. I was asked by some people, as time passed, to add others or remove them...people have sent me stuff to use in future jewels....I've gone through my Mother's illness, death, Memorial Service, my Dad's ordination, new job, living on my own again, HOCKEY season :>) ...all by God's grace and learning to CHOOSE to trust Him.
My POINT was: Today, "The List" includes 66 e-dresses which has been pared back from over 100. Occasionally I have asked people to let me know if they want to be removed from "The List" and a non-answer equals a removal! My Dad, when he left in July (98) said, "Jana, would you please restart your Jewels and include me on the list?" HOW can a girl refuse her DADDY??
BACK TO MY INITIAL POINT!!!! "Brain Injury" is my excuse for exCESSive bunny trails! :>) (What's yours??)
A Jana's Jewel includes:
Two or Three calendar quotes, a thought from a book or another calendar, my thoughts on what the author's said, and something humorous or "diversionary" to wrap it up. The past couple weeks, I've also been sharing the sleeve of "GLAD: Acapella Hymns" because I think it's SO cool! and I happen to LOVE hymns - and MISS them.... :>\
My Dad tells me what my Mom always useta tell me: "You don't do something because YOU feel like it. You do it because OTHERS would be encouraged by it." Thanks to those of "my faithful List-ites" that write to offer me punches in the arm to keep on keeping on. Thanks to those of you that would like to give me a punch in the nose yet restrain yourselves! I have a "folder" on my "desktop" with over 100 items in it to use in future J's Js! Some of those 100 have 25-30 in them too! So, I'm basically set. I will use seasonal ones repeatedly or ones I just happen to LOVE.
Oh! I also tend to babble a bit - especially when I've not TALKED to anyone except my bird. :>) Those who KNOW me are thinking - maybe even SAYing, "Jana, come ON, you KNOW you talk ..... " :>) To make "a long story interesting", welcome to My Page! E ya!
