News, May 1999 |
After four years of extraordinary service to the Land Trust, Jean Brook Dunning and her husband Richard are taking a well-deserved leave from the snowy winters of Washington Ridge and are moving to the warmer climes of Penryn in Placer County.
It is with great personal sadness that the Land Trust bids Jean good-bye. But we all wish her the very best in Penryn. Our loss is certainly Placer Countys gain!
Jean has been an active volunteer both here and in her previous home of San Mateo County. In addition to serving on the Land Trust board as Membership Chair, Jean has also chaired the Loma Rica Ranch Preservation Committee for years and is a past director for Music in the Mountains and past Board member of Auburn Lake Trails.
Just in the past two years, under Jeans very able leadership, the Land Trusts membership increased by 41%. Without her hard work and dedication, we would have been hard pressed to make such lofty gains.
The lilt in her voice as she describes her new home bodes well for her transition. Always known as a horse enthusiast, Jean looks forward to perhaps bringing horses onto the Penryn property, which is set up for equestrian use.
In the meantime, please join us in sending Jean and Richard your best wishes. She will still be in town for a few more months before making the move.
