Explore historic Malakoff Diggins State Park.
Gilann Olsen will lead a mountain bike ride on the Rim Trail which surrounds the great
mine pit. Enjoy spectacular views and a fun trail (6 miles) for strong beginners to
intermediate riders. On the way to the town of North Bloomfield, stop at an old cemetery
and learn about the original inhabitants. Enjoy your picnic lunch in a beautiful setting
before the tour.
The tour will begin with a short film in the park museum which describes hydraulic
mining and it’s history. Then a park guide will lead you through the original
buildings including the general store, pharmacy, post office and victorian home. |
