Virginia Lakes to Twin Lakes

Day 2

The second day we decended down Return Creek Canyon, and climbed up to Miller Lake, a small lake between Return Creek Canyon and Matterhorn Canyon. This was the first of two fairly long days, but Elise did pretty well.

Looking down the valley of Return Creek.

Interesting cascade on a small creek on the way up to Miller Lake.

Miller Lake. This lake had no streams feeding it at the time we were there, consequently it was rather warm, and made for a nice swimming lake.

Our second camp near Miller Lake. We weren't actually camped this close to the trail, we were drying our stuff out in the morning since there was a lot of dew and frost that night.
